Many are suprised when they pass the test. It requires so little time and if you pass, you have the opportunity to meet intelligent people everyday. Check out our calendar and you will see. More events at private homes are visible only to logged in members. It is so much fun being around people that understand your dreams, ideas, and humor. You will wish you joined sooner!
There is an online mini test that you can take to see example questions. Click here for information about the next real test and to see a Google map and picture of the location . Click "Read More" for qualifications.

It's 2012. A new year, leap year, election year. So how are your New Year's resolutions going? I find that I'm just not as resolute as I used to be. I do, however, try to make changes from time to time, not only at New Year. I find that measured, gradual changes usually work best for me.

Special Interest GroupsSIG's serve as the core of activities in NTM. If you have an interest and would like to try it out as a SIG, give the Calendar Chair a call, and we’ll put it in the M-Aura. SIG events are often listed in the printed calendar, but it’s worth checking online at http://www.northtexasmensa.org for lastminute updates. Several SIGs also have their own web sites, message boards, and/or mail-ing lists, so check with the SIG coordinator for more info. Some SIG's may have events which are not publicized – if something interests you from the SIG menu, feel free to contact the listed SIG coordinator. In doing so, you may find that there are many events which, because of their impromptu nature, don’t make the event listings at all.

RVC6 Report
One of my favorite concepts is something called the Law of Unintended Consequences, which basically states that anything we do will have unforeseen results, regardless of whether or not it achieves whatever we set out to do. I was reminded of that concept recently, after the National Office sent out an appeal for early membership renewal, suggesting that it was the ―green thing to do, as early renewals ―save trees by eliminating the need for follow-up mailings. The response to this appeal was extremely encouraging, as it generated numerous renewals and quite a few new membership applications as well. Previous appeals for early renewal in order to save the expense of the follow-up mailings were usually widely ignored, but apparently saving trees is much more popular than saving money.
